Your health coach Crystal Herrera was raised in a Seventh-Day Adventist home (a group of people known for their long lifespans around the world due to their health principles) learning healthy lifestyle choices and natural remedies from a young age. She began personally practicing natural health when her first child was born nearly 20 years ago. She wanted the best for her child and started learning everything she could on natural methods for health care. She has had some amazing training opportunities which include: the opportunity to personally walk through the Highland Rim, a part of the Appalachian mountains in Tennessee, learning to identify and learn about our local plants and their medicinal uses from The Southern Herbalist, Darryl Patton who is the only protege of “The Mountain Man”, Tommy Bass, one of the best known herbalists in the United states, serving the Appalachian mountains in the 1960’s and 70’s. He lectured at Duke University and the subject of scholarly studies on his knowledge of herbs and a documentary. Crystal is also a graduate of the Seventh-Day Adventist led Medical Missionary program, taught by Dr. Joyce Choe, MD and Dr. Mercy Ballard, MD originally in Peru and RN in the United states for over 25 years. Further education includes completion of the Lifestyle and Wellness coaching program through Harvard Medical School, taught by Dr. Beth Frates, MD, a pioneer in lifestyle medicine and award winning Harvard Professor and author. To round it all up she combines her knowledge of alternative medicine with her knowledge of western medicine with her license in nursing to provide you a well rounded understanding of the workings of the human body.
